Sarasvati Devī Birthday 2th February
“You who hold the māla on which you repeat the sacred syllables, which form the basis of language, you hold the book in which the story of life is written. You who wear the necklace of pearls, all the shimmering souls in the world dwell in my mind, heart and speech. Your throat is white like the conch, your lips are red and lovely, the source of sacred speech. Please seat yourself on my tongue and use it to praise yourself. You Saraswati are faith, intelligence, understanding, Goddess of speech, your home is in the self expression of devoted souls. You bestow virtues like mastery of the mind.”
Dedications to Sarasvati Devī

“All revere your lotus feet, Oh Goddess. Giver of all that is beautiful. Give us your form, give us victory, give us wellbeing, remove all hostility.”
~ Devi Mahatmya]
Sarasvatī Devī
Sarasvatī, (“flowing one”) dresses in white, and holds a beautifully carved stringed instrument called a veena, a book, and a rosary to represent the practice of mantra repletion. Her companion, the swan, is celebrated in Vedic iconography as the bird whose beak can separate the milk of wisdom from the water of material existence, for Sarasvatī’s great gift is the discernment that lets us find divinity in the world. Sarasvatī is the deity of language, and speech—as a hymn to Sarasvatī says, she is “intelligence, intelligence, intelligence.” Sarasvatī is the poet’s goddess, the deity of musicians, students, and orators, and the power behind creative inspiration.

This month be conscious on yours speech, your words you choose, when you say something, the noice or sound that you make out of your mouth. Be aware of the way you speak to yourself consciously of unconsciously. Let yourself to speak to you, amen space to yourself to speak to you and listen carefully…be open without judgement but with curiosity listen inwards.
