Holī ~ Holikā
Holī is a pause time to contemplate and meditate inside us. It is a festival that is connected with different stories and festival practices in Vedic calendar.
Traditional Holī is celebrated with a fire ritual. You can light a candle or ghee lamp on the night of Holī. You can pray to be burned that difficult karmic partners and aspects allowing you to see the truth of your Self. Practice forgiveness, gentleness, commitment to that which is truly “good” in the deepest sense.
Significance of Holika Dahan:
The festival begins with Holika Dahan, where bonfires are lit to symbolize the victory of good over evil, commemorating the burning of the demon Holika. This ritual is a symbolic representation of the triumph of virtue and the eradication of negativity.
